What if every class benefited differently from taking a long rest?
Sleep On It
Every class gains a unique benefit by taking a period of sleep or long rest.
Communion
Cleric-types can ask a single question of their divine patron and receive a weal or woe answer.
Determination
Fighter-types can choose to either double the healing from rest by two (three at fourth level, four at eighth level) or, for the next day, force opponents to roll an extra die when making morale checks and choose the worse result.
Scheming
Rogue-types can choose one of their thief abilities: for the next day, when using that ability, they may roll an extra die and take the better result.
Wizard’s Sleep
Magician types can choose to either meditate on their spells for the next day (memorizing them without spending time to prepare) or use one of these effects while they rest instead of healing: detect magic, detect evil (at fourth level). wizard eye (at eighth level).
