Are irredeemably evil creatures necessary for D&D?

Do we need evil creatures as morally acceptable fodder for our TTRPG games?

That aligns pretty closely with my view on the matter. Evil acts, rather than evil creatures (though most creatures have varying degrees of disposition toward evil). In the end, most things are decided by pragmatism and ego.
